INTEGRATIVE RELATIONAL COUNSELLOR & PSYCHOTHERAPIST

About me

I’m an experienced registered Integrative Relational Counsellor & Psychotherapist as well as a Psychosexual and GSRD Relationship Therapist (in-training) who has experience of providing support to individuals in both the private and third sector organizations such as Cardiff Women’s Aid, Cardiff Mind and Platform Wellbeing.

I’m a registered member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and I offer a safe, confidential, non-judgmental and welcoming space for all clients. I am an inclusive sex positive & kink aware practitioner working with individuals of all genders, relationship structures and sexual orientations over the age of 18+. I am bilingual (English/Spanish) and therefore I welcome working with individuals with whom English is not their first language and have strong connections to other cultures.

I have experience in research in domestic abuse revictimization and I have a special interest in working with and understanding how our experiences in our relationships with others and with ourselves impacts our lives and our wellbeing. Whether that is our community, family, friends, or intimate relationships.

As a result of the focus of my work being on relational experiences I am currently enhancing my professional development as a Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist with the reputable Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology.

In my spare time you will find me exploring nature with my dogs Wilson & Freddie; swimming in the sea; travelling; spending time with friends & loved ones; & enjoying my passion for live music at country, rock and heavy metal gigs.

Integrative Relational Counselling & Psychotherapy is a modern and flexible approach to understanding mental health, our difficulties in life and how the therapeutic relationship can help with these and guide you through them. I place a great importance on creating a secure therapeutic relationship and stable base with my clients in order to understand your needs and therefore tailor the work to you and your preferences; and by integrating theory and techniques from different approaches. I like to work collaboratively with clients and my approach is mainly informed by psychodynamic, existential and person-centred therapy, although I also incorporate elements from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).

I am a Trauma-Informed therapist and understand the impact that trauma can have on building trust, emotional regulation and daily functioning. My background in psychology allows me to bring psychoeducation into our work to help you to understand what may be happening on a psychological and physiological level and how we can work with this to help you feel more in control of what you may be experiencing.

What is Psychosexual Therapy?

Psychosexual or Sex Therapy is talk based therapy which can help you to explore and discuss your erotic and intimate life. Sex is still a very stigmatised topic in our society and we are often feel shame for our sexual experiences or desires. This is a space where you can learn to step away from this and create the relationship to sex that you want. Whether it’s difficulties in your relationship or with sexual partners; difficulties with your sexual function; or a desire to understand your sexual expression in greater detail, psychosexual therapy can be incredibly helpful. I am trained in a sex-positive and non-addiction based approach to therapy. I do not support or practice conversion therapy and my work never involves touch.
